December 29, 2015

Hiya, lovelies!

So I had a weird sense of...strangeness. I literally feel like I just posted my last blog post a couple days ago, but here it's been a couple weeks? It's insane how quickly time goes by around the holidays - wow!

Anyhow, so I recently heard back from my editor about my editorial assessment, and she should be getting that to me around the 6th of January. I also contacted an amazing artist from deviantart to commission for both the ebook and print version of the book cover for Twisted - I've already chosen what stock photo I want for sure on the cover, I just need to essentially make it look cool and format it, hence is why I hired a professional - for a very reasonable price, may I add! I'm also going to go entirely through full content editing around the 20th of January, so I'm hoping to get Twisted out at the end of February! And then finally start working on Unstable.

I have an idea for how I want to start getting my book out there, and my original thought was to sell ebooks first, since it's going to cost to print books, and if my book flops, then I won't lose THAT much money. But I've decided that a lot of people probably still prefer actual books over ebooks, so I'm going to print a few at first to see how that goes and sell in both formats. It's honestly so much to think about, and I'm so thrilled to talk to my editor about the process in accurate detail so I don't make any huge mistakes. This is my first time going for this, so of course it's nerve wracking, but I really feel like I'm ready to get Twisted out there!

I also have a new and professional twitter that ya'll might want to check out; I post about books I've read, about my personal blog, and more on books I will publish one day, so yeah - check it out @Sarah_Marie28

Other than that, I hope ya'll are having a great time celebrating your holidays! xx

December 14, 2015

Hiya lovelies!

I hope everyone is having an amazing day, I got to sleep in this morning and eat brownies for breakfast so, evidently, life is beautiful. I'm off for the winter break as of now, so no classes 'till mid January soo

FREEEDOOOOOOOM.

As for Twisted, I sent my completed manuscript to my editor for an editorial assessment, and she should get back to me by January 6. I'm so nervous but excited to get some professional outlook on what I have so far; I know I have things I need to fix, but once she gets back to me, I'll really know where I stand from a marketing perspective. Needless to say I haven't been able to even look at the manuscript since I sent it, though I've gotten a couple of new ideas I'm going to bring up with her when I hear back. My biggest issue is which route I should take when it comes to publishing, but once she finishes reading my manuscript she's going to give me her advice on that. I'll keep ya'll updated when I hear back from her and whatnot; I also sent the manuscript to my best friend (also my ex hahah) to read and he said, and I quote, "It's like when you go to the bookstore without any money and pick up a book to skim over, and you start reading it and realize that it's surprisingly really good, and you wished you had actually brought money." Soo there's a bit of positive feedback with him on that, though he has yet to finish reading it 😂

As always, feel free to hit me up on twitter @SmilinForYa! Or just email me from here. Hope ya'll are having a great day and enjoying the holidays!

I'd really appreciate it if ya'll took the time to vote on this!! Thank you :)

November 29, 2015

So after completing the manuscript for Twisted, I've been faced with very difficult decisions to make regards to publishing. When I started writing the 2nd revision, I thought I'd be going the traditional route, but the more I think about it, the more I'm leaning towards indie writing.

My chief concern is control - I have a genuine fear of pouring my blood, sweat, and tears into a story, then having a big, bad publish house take total control and change it into something I didn't have in mind, for MY story. I'm undergoing extensive research to see which is a better direction for me to take, and there are so many things to consider. If I go indie, I'll basically have to be my own publisher - to get my book out there, to get the cover design, formatting, ISBN, distribution. But as I mentioned, the biggest pro there is, is that I will have complete control over my book and how it sells. It sounds like it may take a great time and effort, and more expensive to start off - but then again, with traditional, you've got to cut your royalties with the agent and publisher, so the rate for royalties in indie is much higher. Overall, the biggest issue is getting my book out there - but luckily, the portrayal of indie is lifting a bit.

I myself personal think the idea of an author publishing their own book, marketing it, and everything is so amazing. Sure an indie author doesn't have to go through a big, bad publishing house - but if they don't know what they're doing anyhow, or their story still needed lots of work, then they'll flop. The indie route is a major risk, but I'm starting to really think it's worth it. If my work flops, at least I can blame myself for that.

Anyhow, onto a lighter note, the winner of writing prompt #2 belongs to Demi and I'd love to portray her work on here, but I asked for her permission, and she had personal reasons not to have her work featured. Nonetheless, congrats, lovely! She wrote a hilarious yet touching little piece - and the two celebrities she chose were SO random and...well, unexpected.

As for prizes, it's going to take some time for me to get those out. I'm so sorry for the wait, school has been hell, and I didn't take a lot of things into account - I just kind of plunged in there xD This is the reason I'm going to have to put a stop to the writing prompts, for now, until my life gets back into...control.

I just want to thank everyone once again. A lot of the times I stop and get pretty emotional because to think I'm able to do what I love for a living is just...sometimes very difficult to comprehend. For those in the states who have celebrated Thanksgiving this past week, I hope ya'll had plenty of turkey, or whatever food ya'll had! And for others who are celebrating holidays I unfortunately don't know of, I hope those are going well, too!

I'll keep ya'll updated as things progress, in terms of Twisted. In the mean time, hit me up on here, or on twitter @SmilinForYa, or you're welcome to read some of my fanfics at 1DFF

Love ya'll! xx

November 18, 2015

Hiya lovelies!

Soo tonight I'm going to celebrate...well, okay, probably not tonight because I've got homework and classes tomorrow, as well as work, but this weekend I shall celebrate because I FINALLY COMPLETED THE MANUSCRIPT. IT TURNED OUT TO BE A LITTLE OVER 60,000 WORDS WHICH I WAS NOT PLANNING FOR AND EVEN NOW I FEEL LIKE IT NEEDS MORE.

Now's the time to butcher the hell out of it. Fuuun. And to find some beta readers!

Since I was so happy from this, I made a little something to...illustrate how excited I am.

Anyhow.

So pertaining to the last writing prompt, honestly, I haven't had a chance to read anyone's submissions until this morning. Things have been crazy busy where I'm at, with finals approaching and me getting in tune with my jobs and whatnot, but hey, winter break is coming up, so I plan on working on some of my fanfictions and getting Twisted out there!!

As soon as I decide on whose writing is the winner, I'll send the notification and announce them on here (and hopefully post their entry). I hope everyone's having a wonderful day!! :) xx

October 26, 201

So guys, here's a new BIG announcement in regards of Twisted.

I have two chapters left to write, and then it's finished.

The entire manuscript will be COMPLETELY WRITTEN.

DO YOU KNOW HOW EXCITED I AM ABOUT THIS?

Of course, there's the whole editing process. I've got lots of holes in the plotline that I need to fix, scenes I need to revise - take out or add more, but at least I'll have a finished product to work with. This is a giant leap of progress, and I'm so so excited to have reached this point! It's taking a lot of patience for me, though, to not jump ahead and rush to finish. So I decided to stop where I'm at and spend a while thinking it over, so I finish strongly.

Also, I made some character profiles for the big characters. Yay photoshop! Hope ya'll are having a wonderful day, btw :)

October 23, 2015

Hiya, lovelies. So first off, I made a little snippet thing for Twisted!!

Yay photoshop!!

Thanks to everyone who's submitting their entries for the 2nd writing prompt; for those who haven't submitted theirs yet, don't worry, you still have a while before the deadline! So have fun with it!

Also, wanted to wish Jasmine a late happy birthday! She just turned 16 whoo!!

This week has been absolutely hectic for me. I started volunteering at a museum in town and managed to score an internship at a local rock music venue (it's so cool omfg) so now I've got those WITH school work.

*eyes twitch

But no, I'm so excited for this internship and volunteering. It's always nice to stay busy. Plus I've made serious progress on Twisted yesterday, I don't even know what happened tbh I just started writing and I guess I got in the zone?? I won't question it!

Aaand Halloween is coming up! What's everyone doing for costumes? If you want, share your costume idea with me (because I have yet to choose and I may or may not copy your costume idea hehehe). Hope ya'll are having a wonderful day!!

Writing Prompt #2

2. If you could have any two famous people for your parents, who would you have and why?

Rules/Guidelines:

Nothing specific on who your chosen famous person is - just find your own definition of famous, and I'll go with whoever you choose! Nothing specific in that aspect.
You can write journal excerpts, a short story, poetry - this one is pretty broad, but it can't be over 6,000 words.
Any genre is accepted; slash is also not prohibited.
No specific formatting or fonts, just make it readable!

*whispers* Just to give an example, I'd choose Larry as my parents because that would be super adorable! But that's just as an example. Let your creativity flow!

You're welcome to send your submissions in from now on, but the deadline is Sunday, the 1st of November  before MIDNIGHT. ANY SUBMISSIONS AFTERWARDS WILL NOT BE JUDGED. But I will still enjoy reading xP

Happy writing, lovelies!

October 16, 2015

Hiya lovelies!

So I decided to make a quick post before I run off to class (yaaay history), just wanted to remind everyone that tomorrow I will announce writing prompt #2 with rules and guidelines, but remember the most important one: ABSOLUTELY NO PLAGIARISM. The worst thing you can EVER do to yourself is copy and paste someone else's hard work and claim it as your own. Please, for the love of humanity, don't do that to someone!!

Anyhow. Onto brighter manners.

I've had a bit of time in between classes this week to work more on Twisted, and I'm getting more and more excited as I get towards the end. Things are going well, I'm aware of things I have to fix in consideration to the plot, holes and vague details, but I'm going to do all of that in the editing process My biggest concern at the moment is finishing the actual manuscript. Once I do that, I can butcher it all I want. *evil laughter*

Other than that though, I've been doing good; talked to a company about getting an internship with them, a small venue on the bay that occasionally has local bands play -- it has a bar, a restaurant, and you know, a stage and whatnot. They're in need of someone who can make posters, with graphic design, and I figured that's something up my route, so I may as well check it out! Plus the woman was so nice and laid back, she even said she wasn't looking for a resume!! Which is awesome for me because my resume is pretty sad right now, since...yeah.

ANYWAY. I hope ya'll have a good day! Remember, life is an adventure...so eat bread and be happy!

October 10, 2015

Just realized that come the 30th, that would mark the 3rd month I've been working on Twisted. It's crazy how time flies, but in that span of time, I did complete a 50,000 word manuscript that I ended up trashing and starting new, and now I've written almost 40,000 words and just have about a quarter left to write!!

Can you FEEL my excitement?

This is an issue of mine, however. Knowing how I want it to end, with the sequel following, can prove to be a problem. Now that I know the destination is in sight, I want to rush through the story to reach it. That's what happened with the first manuscript, and a lot of fan fictions if I remember correctly. So because of this, I'm going to take a week off from writing on Twisted, just so I can ground myself again, think about fresh, cool ideas to implement towards the end of the story. The last thing I want to do is ignore everything else for the sake of saying it's done, so I'll give this a try, even though I'm so. so. close.

As for the winner of prompt #1, I am currently putting together her gift to send and am soo excited because I'm making it myself, so it might take a couple of days to ship it out. Can't wait to finish that either!

As I've said before, the 2nd writing prompt will be announced next Saturday, the 17th. Hopefully I'll be able to have 2 more prompts 'till I finish Twisted, but hey, with the sequel coming afterwards, I can do even more for that! ;D

Hope ya'll are enjoying your Saturday (or whatever day it is where you live lol). Lots and lots of love! :)

WINNER OF PROMPT #1

Hello lovelies!

So the winner for Prompt #1 is Jasmine! I asked for her permission to post her writing on here, so I'm so excited that she granted me that because I just really want ya'll to read what she wrote! Beautifully written and VERY insightful.

And a big congrats to everyone else who sent in their entry!! I will be coming out with a 2nd prompt I think the 17th? As for Jasmine, I will be sending out her prize as soon as I get it finished ;) Anyhow, here's her entry. Happy reading! Hope ya'll are having a great day!

____

I sit at my desk, contemplating what to write.

‘Write about something ugly,’
is the one sentence that constantly replays in my head. I can definitely write about something ugly. The world has many ugly traits I would happily bring attention to, but the troubling aspect of the prompt is that I need to find the silver lining of the ugly thing I choose to write on.

I mull over this, and after several minutes, I decide to word vomit the general topic of ugliness, pertaining to the world, and all it’s terrible glory. I’ll clean up the mess afterwards. I hope to find a golden page of writing amongst the chaos, which will soon become evident on the paper situated in front of me.

I best get started. My brows furrow together in concentration as soon as the pen hits in the thin paper.

There is no denying that we all live in an unjust world, a world that finds pleasure in stripping the colour from a child’s cheeks, and gladly disposes of it in a cold, desolate place. A world that enjoys berating the people who only see the beauty in it.

Warfare, hatred, and death constantly hover over people, the same way dark clouds often overwhelm a blue sky. And the devastating realization; is the fact that there is no end. The world is always going to be corrupt; the world is always going to be full of people who are consumed with vindictive and malicious intentions.

But despite all of that, hidden very deep underneath, is the little glow, the little glimmer of hope. Because where there is hate, there is love. Where there is despair, there is hope. There cannot be one without the other, unless we are speaking of Heaven and Hell, in which we aren’t. We are speaking of the bitter solace in between, the place called Earth – The world full of anguish and joy, the world full of hostility that is shouting for unity.

And that would come to be the silver lining of it all. The silver lining of warfare, of cruelty and of hate is the fact that one cannot simply exist without it’s opposite. So in times of heartache and in times of deep despair, remember that each of these horrible things the world has to offer cannot happen unless their opposites are present. And they are, they are burning bright and they are beaming with the word peace.

If they were not, then we would be in our own endless abyss of Hell.

And I cannot stress enough, that that is not the case. We still hold power over the worlds we create. We are alive in this moment, and although it seems we live godless times, there will always be that glimmer of hope, that glimmer of a silver lining, because in this world, one cannot simply thrive without the other.

The darkness cannot exist without the light.

Hiya lovelies!

So as you all know, entries for PROMPT 1 are no longer allowed, and I will decide on the winner this coming Saturday and ship out prizes as soon as possible! I want to thank the wide participation for my first attempt at something like this and also add that seriously, ya'll have some mad talent skills! Writing prompt #2 will be coming out on the 17th, so keep an eye out for that. As for the story itself -- hehe, back to serious matters -- I have gotten just a bit farther into the story, but as I've said before, I haven't been able to write a bunch, with school and everything. I've got my last midterm Thursday so hey, maybe I'll be able to sit down and get some serious work done this weekend?

At this point, I'm really trying to get the story written. For all I know, I might want to rewrite it AGAIN - and that'll be the 2nd time, but I'm hoping that won't be the case. All I know is that I'll have a field day editing the hell out of this piece before I go showing it to my sister again!

I hope ya'll are having a wonderful day and enjoying the fall :)

October 2, 2015

Hiya lovelies!

So the week is finally drawing to the end, and let me tell you, I am so ready for the weekend! This week has been insane with all kinds of exams and essays, and I've got midterms coming up, so let's add more to the stress! It's finally October, and fall is coming in, though in south Texas it's still hotter than ever (not to mention humid). Fall is my absolutely favorite time of the year - great weather, Halloween, delicious treats, I just love everything about it. Needless to say, I'm THRILLED for the temperature to start cooling down!

Just a remind that the entries for Prompt #1 are due tomorrow night, NO LATE SUBMISSIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED. I've already read multiple entries and might I just say that you guys are just, wow, AMAZING writers. It's going to be difficult to choose! But this makes me so so excited!

Other than that, I'm sorry to say that I haven't had a moment to work on Twisted, but hopefully I'll get a chance this weekend or after midterms. So much stuff to do, and so little time. I hope everyone's having a good year!

Happy writing!

Cassiopeia

Source: Wikepedia

The story of Cassiopeia, according to Greek mythology, is quite interesting and has a bit to do with Twisted, so check out the story as well as the constellation along with it.

The Queen Cassiopeia, wife of king Cepheus of Ã†thiopia, was beautiful but also arrogant and vain; these latter two characteristics led to her downfall. In some sources she was the daughter of Coronus and Zeuxo.
Her name in Greek is ÎšÎ±ÏƒÏƒÎ¹ÏŒÏ€Î·Kassiope; other variants of the name in Greek are ÎšÎ±ÏƒÏƒÎ¹ÏŒÏ€ÎµÎ¹Î±Kassiopeia andΚασσιέπειαKassiepeia.
The boast of Cassiopeia was that both she and her daughter Andromeda were more beautiful than all the Nereids, the nymph-daughters of the sea god Nereus. This brought the wrath of Poseidon, ruling god of the sea, upon the kingdom of Ethiopia.
Accounts differ as to whether Poseidon decided to flood the whole country or direct the sea monster Cetus to destroy it. In either case, trying to save their kingdom, Cepheus and Cassiopeia consulted a wise oracle, who told them that the only way to appease the sea gods was to sacrifice their daughter.
Accordingly, Andromeda was chained to a rock at the sea's edge and left there to helplessly await her fate at the hands of the sea monster Cetus. But the hero Perseus arrived in time, killed Cetus, saved Andromeda and ultimately became her husband.
Since Poseidon thought that Cassiopeia should not escape punishment, he placed her in the heavens tied to a chair in such a position that, as she circles the celestial pole in her throne, she is upside-down half the time. The constellation resembles the chair that originally represented an instrument of torture. Cassiopeia is not always represented tied to the chair in torment, in some later drawings she is holding a mirror, symbol of her vanity, while in others she holds a palm leaf, a symbolism that is not clear.[1]
As it is near the pole star, the constellation Cassiopeia can be seen the whole year from the northern hemisphere, although sometimes upside down.

Hiya lovelies!

Hope everyone's having a great day. Late post, I know. I tend to get active at night - maybe I'm a vampire? Anyhow, thanks to all the people who have already sent in their submissions for writing prompt #1! I'm so excited to read everyone's writing, it's certainly going to be hard to choose a winner.

Just wanted to also make a point to say that as a fellow writer, there will be no bias or anything towards submissions from authors I know. I understand what it's like to be participating in these things, and I've personally experienced judges who do things like that, so it's one of my pet peeves. Therefore, rest assured, there WILL be no bias.

Anyhow, for those who still want to participate, there's still plenty of time to send them in! Just wanted to keep everyone updated with what's happening and whatnot.

Happy writing! :)

Writing Prompts Info

Hey, lovelies!

So I've decided to go ahead and do the writing prompts idea! On Sunday, roughly around 9:00AM, I will be releasing the writing prompt and specifics. I've decided to try this every two weeks; releasing the prompt on Sunday, then ending submissions on the 2nd Saturday following. Judging will take a week, and I will then announce the winner and send out the prize! Afterwards, on the next Sunday, the next prompt will be announced, and the whole process will start over. I hope to do this roughly 5 times, maybe more, it just depends on how many people participate. This might flop - I really don't know. Anyhow, I will go more into the rules/guidelines and how the judging criteria will go, once I post the prompt. Can't wait to read what ya'll come up with!!

September 16, 2015

And progress continues for Twisted! Before classes today, I had the chance of writing in the library. I'm not sure of the word count as of now, since I'm not compiling it all into one manuscript until I completely finish, but I'm pretty proud of my progress so far! I had taken a couple weeks off, for a break, because I had ran into more serious plot holes. But now with the time away, I have a fresher mind with new ideas, so the show's back on the roll!
I'm going to try and work on it more frequently, so I'll definitely keep you all posted on the progress! Also, another thing.
As you all probably know, Twisted was originally a 1D fanfiction. Through the journey of completing it, I experienced many warm encouragements from fellow writers and readers. As a massive thanks for their never-ending encouragement, I wanted to do something special. Through the process of completing Twisted, I thought of having a fun series of writing contests, very small, might I add. Where you all submit works relating to prompts I give and at the end, I choose a couple that stand out (which'll no doubt be extremely difficult in the end) and send out little gifts that pertain to Twisted - the newer, original piece that I'm currently writing. It could be anything, things seen in the book that symbolize something, quotes, fear not, though, I won't do anything that'll spoil any part of the story! I just figured it'll be cool to do something like this, until I finish writing it! So if you're interested in participating, keep watch on this blog because every week or so, I'll post a new prompt to follow by! If you have any questions, or want to join, email me at sarahreeves024@gmail.com!

Can't wait to start this!! :D

September 4, 2015

So progress is very well for Twisted; I'm still feeling like I outta change the title, only because I want it to be particularly meant for the story, I just haven't thought of anything at the moment. I'll probably figure that out at the end - if a random title doesn't hit me between then. Anyway, here are some updated reference pictures to the story! :)

August 26, 2015

So sakuyasworld from DeviantArt finished the illustration for Heath and I practically swooned when I saw it. She really brought him to life; as I've said before, if you're ever looking to commission from someone, she's the person to go to.

August 24, 2015

So, here's a bit of an update.

I start school on Wednesday and am going to take four classes this semester; I also plan on finding a part-time job, to help with school and whatnot, so evidently, with all the moving out and moving in and making last minute school shopping, it's difficult to find time to write. Whilst in Colorado, I showed my plans for Twisted to my older sister because she's a hard critic when it comes to original ideas and whatnot - she strives for the non-cliche, which is why I went to her. And let me say, she didn't hold back.

Basically, she pointed a lot of things out to me. At first, I figured I'd be able to do some quick fixes, but I feel like I felt that way mostly because I was so thrilled to have actually finished a story. But after more thinking, I came to one deadly conclusion:

I have to start over. Rewrite.

She pointed out tons of things about my story that were entirely cliche. As a writer, I want my story to be set away from things that have been overdone, to make it stand out more in the publishing stance, so this devastated me a bit. While writing a manuscript, it's so hard to look at it through a neutral point and see things differently. But thanks to my sister's critique, I've got fresher ideas, and I have even more to work with. Now, I just have to complete the story...again. A lot of things will change because of that, but I'm confident that it's far more interesting than the other I had in mind. One thing a writer must realize is that there will never be one draft. There will be several, with revising and editing.

Anyhow, I've got a bit written for the beginning; this newer idea will take more research, so it's going to take more time, but I'm confident I'll find the time to do so with the passion I have for completing it. Because of that, I'm not worried, but am entirely thrilled.

Monday, August 17, 2015

August 17, 2015

Now that I've finally completed the manuscript for Twisted, I will be fixing plot holes and tweaking characterizations; then, the manuscript will be sent to three beta readers so I can have extra pairs of eyes catching mistakes I missed. Then, I'll start looking for an agent.

It turned out to be around 60,000 words, which is 20,000 longer than I originally intended, but I'm okay with that. I'm just so excited to have a completed story and have something to work with. I'll have to start doing intensive research on agents and publishers set for Twisted, as well as beginning the query letter.

Let the adventure begin!

Sunday, August 16, 2015

August 16, 2015

So, I'm excited.

I have three more scenes left to write, then I'm finished writing Twisted.

THREE MORE SCENES.

This doesn't mean I'm finished with the editing and everything else that comes with it, of course. But it means I have stuff to work with now, some kind of template. Plus I finally finished a story!!

Overall, I plan on having 3 drafts before I get a beta reader to look over it. My 2nd draft will consist of me looking over plot lines and characterization because evidently I've got serious plot holes to consider and my characters seem super flat, so there's that. Then my 3rd draft will be punctuation - the actual writing. I'm just so excited that I finally reached this point! There's much work to do still, but it's certainly progress.

August 15, 2015

Alright, so I'm speechless.

sakuyasworld (you can go to her profile from here) from DeviantArt, one of the lovely artists I've commissioned from for the illustration of Heath, came out with the sketch! She's going to send me the base coloring once I give her approval, and then the final picture. I'm just...this is so surreal because she had everything spot on, and she practically brought my character to life. A massive thank you to her, and hey, if you ever need something commissioned, I highly recommend her. She's super friendly, and is great to work with - not to mention her prices are very reasonable. Needless to say, this'll be my source of inspiration for a while!

Thursday, August 13, 2015

August 13, 2015

I've found two wonderful artists to commission from, for my Heath character illustration - one of them being a close friend, and the other a talented artist on DeviantArt. My friend has already begin the commission, and the other is going to start Friday, since there's a bit of a line. I cannot wait to see the result; I love paying for art, since it seems a thing that's not widely appreciated.

As of now, I'm a little over 34,000 words for Twisted and would consider myself halfway through the plot. My original goal of 40,000 is closer than ever, and I'm positive that it's going to be a bit longer than what I originally thought. Of course, through editing and whatnot, I'm probably going to shorten it a couple thousand words; it's just hard to judge that at the stage of writing. I'll have to take a much closer look when I actually finish.

It's only the beginning of the journey; I've got a long way to go, but I'm so excited to take off on this and see where it takes me. I'm so excited to share this story with people; I just hope I can get it there.

Just wanted to recognize the readers who have been with Twisted from the very beginning. I want to thank everyone for their encouraging words and for giving my writing a chance, you have no idea how much it's meant to me and inspired me. Your words are motivation and inspiration. I don't know if I'd have the courage to do what I do if not for you. All the love xx

So I'm loosely gathering a playlist for Twisted, songs I've used to inspire me write, as well as songs that I feel pertain much to the story. I'm still looking for an artist to commission from, and I've been thinking of making a book trailer - any thoughts to that? That's an iffy thing so far, I'm not 100% sure if I'm going to be able to do that.

Also, here's another outfit illustration, a Claire formal wear:

Roxy's outfit profile:

Today, I'm on the search for an artist currently taking commissions. I've messaged a few on DeviantArt and am looking for someone who can do realistic illustrations, preferably with digital art. I hope to hear back from them and see their price ranges. I'm not looking to spend an absolute ton of money on this, I just need some kind of source of inspiration whenever I feel dishearted while writing. And as of now, I've reached a hole in the story that I can't seem to fill. I'm going to be patient and wait until I can fix that; in the meantime, I'll focus on putting together a playlist of songs that pertain to the book, as well as more references. I hope everyone's having an amazing day! All the love xx

August 7, 2015

I forgot to mention yesterday that I plan on making this a short series, for Twisted to be the first book, and Unstable to be the sequel. I don't plan on making a third book, however.
Part of me wants to show someone what I already have written, just to let me know if it's interesting or not. But every time I do that, I never seem to finish the story. I get sidetracked and spend more time revising before I even finish it. The first and foremost step to finishing a book is to write the book. Don't worry about punctuation or making errors, that's why you have a couple of drafts. The writing process is strenuous work and doesn't happen in one go. I'm really coming to terms with patience as of now.
Anyway, I just want to thank all my readers once again, from when Twisted was a fanfic. Because of the warm and encouraging words of support, I had the confidence and ability to purse my love for writing, as well as the determination to make Twisted something bigger. Without ya'll, I don't know if Twisted would ever have become a thing...or if I'd be here right now, writing this story. I love you all.
Anyhow, I thought it would be fun to post references here and there on here, pertaining to the story. My first reference would be the jackets that Heath and the gang members wear. Here's how I picture them to look:
